I’ve learned to use Tara Brach’s RAIN technique when I find myself spiraling. Either I write out the process, or do it as a kind of meditation.

It’s been about a year and a half since I discovered and started using this, and now I can react very quickly, at the earliest signs of spiral, so to speak
