Is it ok that my favorite part of this post is the way you popped a couple of GIFs in there?! It was unexpected, but your resistance and tenacity truly are woodpecker-scale superpowers😀

I am blown away by the study about shame cues too… so it’s not just me?😉

Do you think you can ever truly be free from shame that was put in place during childhood?

THAT is an excellent question. And the dream, right?! I haven’t come across anything that suggests you can become shame-free--but I do think it gets easier to notice and feel compassion for the shame when it’s triggered--and know that the shame is unjustified.

Do you think shame requires another person to create it? Can you feel shame without someone shaming you?

Good question! More on this in a couple weeks--but briefly, it seems to be ultimately “installed” by others

Recently, I became curious about shame. After an exchange with a friend, she mentioned that others shamed her. I was curious where the onus of shame comes from. Others or oneself?
