#9 Process talk: What am I doing?!
Everyone feels like this sometimes & compassion is a soft thing
Hello! I’m back with another process post before sharing a comic about the evolutionary psychology of shame. This process post feels particularly fitting.
Quoted text above from Daniel Sznycer, lightly edited to fit in comics.
Text below is my own words.

Comic-making plus heaps of self-compassion are my antidote to shame. Everyone feels like this sometimes. And compassion is a soft thing.
I love that the process of making art is so deeply connective.
And, dang, the process can be hard, when it awakens feelings of “am I enough?”
I keep learning that the more I allow rather than resist the process, the more compassion I have for the waves to come and go.
What helps when you find yourself spiraling? Tell me in the comments :)

Subtle “oh no” reference to Alex Norris’ “oh no comics.” Hat tip to Shay Mirk for introducing me to Alex Norris’ awesome Webcomic Name—check out their excellent “oh no” comics.
I’ve learned to use Tara Brach’s RAIN technique when I find myself spiraling. Either I write out the process, or do it as a kind of meditation.
It’s been about a year and a half since I discovered and started using this, and now I can react very quickly, at the earliest signs of spiral, so to speak
I love what you do.
